Big River Fisheries Assessment
As part of the RI/FS of the Big River Mine Tailings Site, WSP conducted a Supplemen tal Field Sampling Program and prepared the Feasibility Study. They analyzed fish and crayfish communities using electroshocking and seining methods. Samples were collect ed, processed, and prepared for laboratory analysis to assess the impact of contami nants on aquatic biota.
Habitat and Acoustic Surveys
WSP conducted Phase I Habitat Assessment studies across North Carolina to identify suit able roosting habitats for various bat species and developed acoustic monitoring plans for these sites. They coordinated with the USFWS for plan approval and implemented the study by deploying monitors, collecting, reviewing, and reporting acoustic data. .
