Ecology, Landscape, EIA, Planning and Permitting, and Social Acceptability | SOQ

WSP provides natural resources and ecological services from the early planning phase of a project through design, permitting, mitigation, construction, post-construction and monitoring phases. WSP helps our clients identify natural resources and recommends precautionary and remedial measures that can minimize the ill effects of natural resources exploitation. What sets us apart is our ability to serve our clients in every aspect of natural resources and ecological needs through the entire life cycle of a project. Our experience spans national parks, military bases, transportation, ports and navigation projects, beach restoration and living shoreline projects. Our ecologists and biologists work with design teams to identify the physical changes that would occur from site development, review the field data collected, and predict future site conditions. We have provided environmental permitting and inspection support, for oil and gas clients, throughout the US. Permitting efforts have involved local permitting, state coastal zone permitting, Section 404/10 permitting, and reporting required for various FERC-designated projects (e.g., 7b, 7c, 157, and 2.55).

Our experience performing environmental surveys include wetland and waterbody delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act nesting surveys, and

colonial wading bird rookery surveys. Environmental Planning

Due to heightened environmental awareness, public interest in sustainable development, and established environmental laws and regulations, projects often require environmental planning and review (including opportunities for public review and comment), as well as final approvals and permitting support prior to being launched. With our multidisciplinary team of scientists, archaeologists, anthropologists, historians, planners, engineers, geographers, heritage specialists, economists, communications experts and more, WSP USA is well positioned to analyze the living environments in which projects are undertaken.
