Renewable Energy Permitting WSP provides comprehensive permitting, project management, and engineering services for the generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of power from both renewable and non-renewable energy sources. Our experience includes federal, state and/or local environmental approvals and permitting support for thousands o megawatts across the U.S., North America, and globally. Our team includes numerous engineers, project managers, permitting specialists, and other subject matter experts in the Energy/Utilities sector throughout the U.S.

Power Permitting WSP is a recognized national leader in natural resources, environmental analysis, permitting, and routing/siting. We have been improving capital projects and operating systems in North America and worldwide for over 25 years. With a focus on transmission line and substation experience, WSP provides a range of services, including siting, environmental permitting, cultural resources, wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, site/ civil engineering, and public outreach. With experience across the entire lifecycle of the transmission infrastructure development process, WSP has completed over 400 transmission line projects in the U.S., ranging from 34.5 kV to 765 kV and from 1 mile to 800 miles in length. In the last 15 years, WSP’s siting team has conducted more than 300 transmission-related siting and permitting projects in the U.S. in over 30 states. Our staff have successfully defended our clients’ siting projects through written and in-person expert witness testimony. Siting and related services include detailed route selection, public outreach and all associated and supporting field and permitting tasks. WSP staff have often been requested because of their ability to adapt to the needs of the project and handle difficult siting challenges.

WSP has one of the most experienced electric transmission line routing/ siting teams in the U.S., having completed over 7,000 miles of electric transmission projects of voltages ranging from 69 kV to 765 kV, including high-voltage direct current (HVDC) lines, in all types of terrain from open, rural areas to congested, urban environments.
