Clean Water Act Sections 404/401 WSP regularly assists our clients in acquiring USACE Section 404 (Clean Water Act) permits for dredging and filling, as well as related state permits, including Section 401 Water Quality certifications. We have conducted water and sediment quality surveys, dredging impact studies, dredge material disposal analyses, coastal zone consistency evaluations, mitigation plan development and monitoring and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan preparation. We have a thorough understanding of what needs to be included in a 404/401 application for the USACE and EPA/ delegated state agencies and we know when to recommend providing supporting documentation for these applications, such as wetland mitigation plans, biological assessments for ESA compliance, and cultural resource investigations for National Historic Preservation Act compliance. We are also well versed in applicability of more streamlined permitting approaches, such as the use of USACE Nationwide Permits.
