WSP’s staff are familiar with state guidelines for conducting research, field investigations, labo ratory analysis, and report preparation and the evolving processes for evaluating archaeological sensitivity and digital data collection for field survey. In addition to a strong working knowledge of cultural resource law, policy, and guidance, we are familiar with sources and institutions for historical and archaeological research throughout the US, which allows staff to efficiently locate and evaluate a wide variety of necessary background information and primary research materials. We are familiar with the Office of Parks, Recre ation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP’s) require ments for various types of archaeological studies, including reconnaissance or Phase IA surveys, locational or Phase IB surveys, intensive site exam inations or Phase II investigations, and archaeo logical data recovery or Phase III investigations, as well as the Section 233 permit process. In addi tion, we have completed architectural resource surveys and NRHP evaluations and recordation to HABS/HAER standards for many projects encom passing rural, village, and urban/exurban settings.
