WSP Climate Change and Sustainability SOQ

CLIMATE ACTION PLANS Adapting to climate change is essential to protect critical service delivery and functionality, and minimize impacts to environment, infrastructure and communities. Our team works with all levels of government to evaluate and mitigate climate risks, and prepare for, respond to, and recover from systemic shocks and stressors. We help quantify climate-related impacts on sectors, assets and populations; assess future climate conditions and risk interdependencies of infrastructure, operations, economy and society; navigate regulations and funding requirements for resilience projects; develop climate change policies and programs; and increase awareness and build capacity for staff and stakeholders. Cities and other local and state governments are increasingly recognizing the opportunity and obligation to develop and implement strategies to ensure their cities are livable, prosperous, equitable and resilient to the potential effects of climate change. Effective sustainability planning provides cities with the information and tools needed to reduce their environmental impact and remain economically viable. WSP has deep, broad strategic and technical expertise across sectors, enabling us to combine our knowledge of

high-performance buildings, transportation, energy, air quality, environmental justice and climate resilience to offer integrated and innovative solutions to urban challenges.

Green infrastructure gives you a chance to revisit existing developments and reduce flows to avoid expensive future capacity increases.” Christopher Davidson Senior Water Resources Engineer, WSP
