STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

EFFECTIVE STAKEHOLDER AND ABORIGINAL/ NATIVE ENGAGEMENT ARE BASED ON THE PRINCIPLE OF ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING, RESPECTFUL AND EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS.

WSP supports our clients and helps select and adapt the communication and engagement program to be utilized by the team based on a variety of criteria including: the scope and magnitude of the project, potential project effects, the range of stakeholders, Aboriginal/Native groups, the culture of the affected communities, and the intended purpose and outcomes of the engagement process. Where appropriate, our team utilizes Consultation Manager, a robust stakeholder management system that includes reporting tools, analytics, location mapping, sentiment tracking, and custom newsletter generation. This solution is for larger, multi-year projects that will have databases of 1,000+ people. As part of the project engagement and participation process, we can assist local Aboriginal/ Native groups in the collection and documentation of their traditional knowledge – an important data source regarding the natural environment and the relationship of people to the land and resources in order to effectively assess project effects.
