Relevant Experience
Muskegon County Solid Waste Muskegon County | Ravenna, Michigan Members of the WSP staff have participated in numerous projects related to groundwater monitoring at this landfill facility and addressing groundwater impact associated with the original Act 87 and Type III landfills. These projects included investigating contamination downgradient from the landfills and resulted monitoring leading to remedial investigations/feasibility studies. We were involved in negotiating a Consent Order Agreement and conducted ash characterization studies for comparison with parameters-of-concern impacting groundwater. In 2022, WSP performed the engineering design, environmental assessment, hydrogeological investigation, and plan preparation for the Construction Permit Application of a 52-acre expansion at the Muskegon County Landfill.
Landfill Leachate and Groundwater PFAS Sampling Confidential Client | MICHIGAN WSP collected groundwater and leachate samples for the analysis of PFAS. The work involved sampling of groundwater at a select number of on-site monitoring wells and leachate for PFAS. The purpose of the PFAS sampling was to provide information on the composition of groundwater and leachate at the site. Groundwater samples were collected from three downgradient monitoring wells and two upgradient monitoring wells. The selected wells were screened in the uppermost aquifer at the site. One leachate sample was collected for PFAS analysis from the primary leachate collection system.
