Landfill Closure Engineering Environmental Monitoring Salinas Valley Solid Water Authority | Monterey County, California The Crazy Horse Sanitary Landfill is in the process of final closure. WSP provided a broad range of engineering and environmental monitoring services that included: „ Final cover design - investigated the potential for a monolithic final cover system; however, analyses revealed the cover was unsuitable. The selection of a structured geomembrane cover was determined to be appropriate. „ Revised final cover design - provided an alternative to construction features and options for installation of ~4 MW PV power systems. „ LFG control design - provided PV Solar installation, geotechnical engineering, LFG system O&M and the final cover design.

LFG CQA Services Republic Services of Michigan | Wayne County, Michigan WSP completed the design, drawings, and specifications for construction of a LFG collection system and was subsequently retained to provided CQA for the system installation. The engineering services included design and review of the proposed well locations; depths and relationship to as-constructed liner documentation; and review of collection header pipeline locations. The CQA monitoring services included oversight of installation and materials of the LFG collection headers, vertical extraction wells, condensate knockout structures, installation of wellheads, backfill materials, installation of the dual extraction system, and the abandonment of existing wells.
