Landfill Expansion and Extensive Engineering Design and Permitting Waste Management | Temple, Texas

WSP has historically been involved in various facets of design and CQA work at the site. We are currently assisting the client with the major expansion permit application, which includes both lateral expansion and vertical expansion. The vertical expansion include piggyback liner or overliner over the existing pre-subtitle D cell. The permitting work involves, but is not limited to, extensive site investigation (geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological), landfill cell and liner design, leachate management system design, final cover design, airspace calculation, stormwater management system design, floodplain study and FEMA applications, closure plan, post closure plan, closure and post closure cost estimate, CQA plan, and site operating plan. The expansion application also includes various calculations related to settlement, slope stability, geosynthetics, etc.

Stormwater Improvements Design Confidential Client | Los Angeles City and County, California WSP performed site evaluations, a geotechnical assessment, and utility locates, including potholing, hydrology assessment, and preparation of designs and acquired permits from local jurisdictions for the installation of stormwater improvements at three transfer station sites. The improvements included surface and subsurface drainage modifications, new infrastructure, underground and aboveground storage, transfer pumps, and the installation of aboveground treatment systems. The aboveground treatment consisted of filtering, carbon adsorption, and metal adsorption.
